_*Directing*_

*        The Role of the Director:

Being a director is like having grate power and with that power comes great responsibility.

The role of a Director is to direct the “Cast/Crew”. (E.g. Actors, Stage assistants, Video photographers and many others that are on the set). He or she are allowed to show and give their guidance to the actors and other members within the cast and crew by showing and telling the Cast and crew what they should be doing.

The Director in both Theatre and Movies are extremely similar. The role of a Director is extremely important. Without them there would be huge problems because the director is the hart of the production/s. More often than not the Director has skills and knowledge in all areas of Drama.

*        Can the Director be wrong?

This is correct the Director can be wrong because he or she can’t be perfect because no one can always be the best professional. This even includes the big pro makers we all make mistakes! If there is a problem and your ether another Director, Assistant Director or a Member of the Crew/Cast and you feel that there’s a problem then see the Director/s and discuses the matter so that every one agrees on it but remember the Director has the final decision. (Don’t try to over power the Director because you will probably not get what you want!)

*        What Dose an Assistant Director do?

The Assistant Director assists the Director by giving advise and help when it’s needed. He or she can also lookout for problems that the Director can’t see. This is extremely useful because the Director is usually busy!

*        Is it hard being a Director or Assistant Director?

It can be a tough job but it can also have its benefits.

*        Experiences needed to be a Director:

  1. Good Acting Skills.
  2. Good communication skills and investigating skills.
  3. Good leadership Skills.
  4. Knowledge in film and theatre.
  5. Experience with the equipment that your Cast/Crew will be using.

 

  

      What’s the Job of an Actor/Actress?

Acting has been around since the down of humans. Acting is a form of entertainment and is classed as an old language and tradition. The role of an Actor or Actress is to present and manipulate them selves in different ways. This can be done by portraying ether them selves or a living or non-living object other than them selves.

 

     Is it hard to Act:

Depending on what’s being preformed some people might have problems playing other roles but we must keep in mind that we are all different and can act the same part differently because of our individuality.

(Note: Try to step into the other person’s shoos and pretend your them! For that day, week or longer.)

When it comes to Acting it all depends on the way you portray your self to the world.

(Note: Don’t change the way you present your self because you would then be acting as someone or thing that your not.

And remember it’s always going to be hard but remember we all make mistakes!). 

 

      Useful Skills & things to remember:

  1. Practice.
  2. Knowledge in different styles of acting.
  3. Teamwork.
  4. Mistakes will happen and if so try to work around them.
  5. Help others when it’s needed.
  6. Relax and try not to stress when it gets hard.
  7. And have fun!
